The Symbian Foundation is pleased to announce the Symbian Exchange and Exposition (SEE), which will take place at Earls Court 2, London on 27-28 October 2009 and simultaneously at different locations around the world.
SEE 2009 will reflect the evolution of mobile computing beyond the realm of the mobile phone, and is an event that is so much more than a traditional trade show.
In keeping with this mission, SEE 2009 will launch an interactive forum – The Symbian Exchange – in which attendees can contribute and develop ideas around the future of mobile with fellow developers, device creators, industry leaders and mobile enthusiasts.
There will also be talks and panel sessions from industry experts, leading minds and visionary speakers, such as Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales, and Crossing the Chasm author, Geoffrey Moore.
As well as allowing attendees to contribute ideas on the future of mobile, SEE 2009 will also be a chance to share thoughts on how to work with Symbian to create the richest user experiences for mobile devices.
SEE 2009 will include the following features:
Visionaries
SEE 2009 is an informal ‘unconference’ in which everyone participates, but there will also be talks from leading minds and industry experts on the main stage on both days, for example:
Jimmy Wales (Day One): named as one of TIME magazine’s ‘100 Most Influential People’, Wales is an internet entrepreneur and wiki pioneer best known as the founder of Wikipedia, the international, collaborative free content encyclopedia - ranked in the top ten most visited websites in the world, and the Wikimedia Foundation.
Geoffrey Moore (Day Two): Moore has made the understanding and effective exploitation of disruptive technologies the core of his life's work. His books, Crossing the Chasm, Inside the Tornado, The Gorilla Game, and Living on the Fault Line are best sellers and required reading at leading business schools.
Idea Exchange
A live, global Idea Exchange will take place on both days of the event. Community members will get together to talk, promote their ideas and drive development through conversation and collaboration.
The Exchange will work to provide a lively forum to allow people to network and provide education/information, as well as to share and create ideas.
Knowledge Exchange
SEE 2009 is the forum for people to talk - in the exhibition hall, on the online networking site, at the event lounges, and during three separate discussions offering in-depth workshops on:
- Application Development
- Device Creation & Contributing to Symbian
- Marketing & Business Models
Mobile DevFest
A dedicated space giving both experienced and up-and-coming mobile application developers hands-on training and industry insights.
Exhibition
The show will feature over 100 exhibitors including network operators, handset vendors, mobile application developers, component suppliers, and content providers. The latest devices and developments will be demonstrated on the show floor throughout the event.
The ever popular after-show party will take place at Earls Court following the close of Day One, on 27th October.
